TY - BOOK TI - The Ambiguity of Play AU - Sutton-Smith, Brian AB - Sutton-Smith tries to show, that "play" is an ambigous concept, that is impossible to define. Instead of a definition, he observes play through various rethorics. This could be very interesting because play is important for an understanding of games and gaming, and because I personally believe that it is exactly this ambiguous character that might bear a political potential. Or, put the other way round, in order to locate the political potential of play, I need to redefine it as a political term or find its political functions (whatever that means). Therefore, this is an important work I can't ignore. CY - Cambridge (Mass) / London DA - 1997/// PY - 1997 PB - Harvard University Press ST - The Ambiguity of Play ER -
